Integrating traditional music therapy methods with Neurologic Music Therapy® Techniques for the effective treatment of people with a Neuro-disability

This is a comprehensive one-day music therapy course delivered in collaboration with the National Rehabilitation Hospital (NRH) in Dublin, Ireland.

A team of music therapists and researchers from the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability (RHN) and the National Rehabilitation Hospital (NRH) in Dublin, Ireland will explore and discuss how Neurologic Music Therapy® (NMT™) can be used alongside other music therapy methods for the holistic treatment of children and adults with a neuro-disability. Participants will engage with compelling presentations showcasing clinical work across diverse domains including sensorimotor, speech and language, cognitive and psychosocial-emotional domains. In addition to informative presentations, the course will feature interactive and group-learning aspects, allowing participants to apply their learning in a hands-on way.

Please note: The NMT™ license and professional designation can only be earned by the completion of the NMT™ Institute Training through the Academy of Neurologic Music Therapy®. This course is suitable for music therapists, music therapy students and other AHPs interested in learning more about music therapy in neuro-rehabilitation.

We are delighted to welcome esteemed music therapy clinician, researcher and educator Professor Rebecca O’Connor who will be the keynote speaker for this event. Rebecca has over 33 years of experience in health and social care settings and has extensive clinical and research experience in paediatric neuro-rehabilitation and prolonged disorders of consciousness (PDOC). Rebecca has published and presented her work nationally and internationally.
